Scheduling & Makeups

Makeup lessons must be arranged directly with your instructor and completed within the same semester. Makeups do not carry over to the next semester and are not credited or refunded.
A 24-hour notice is required to qualify for a makeup. Missed lessons without proper notice will not be rescheduled, refunded, or credited. Students are also expected to arrive on time, as teachers are not obligated to extend or make up for tardiness.

No. Each student is allowed two makeups per semester with proper 24-hour notice. After two makeups, additional missed lessons will be forfeited, even if the semester is not over.

Semester Lengths:

  • Fall & Spring Semesters: 19 weeks
  • Summer Semester: 8 weeks

Tuition & Billing

We use a flat-rate monthly billing system, with tuition auto-charged on the 1st of each month.

An annual $30 per student registration fee is billed on the month of your registration every year.
Tuition is based on an annual calendar of 47 instructional weeks (5 weeks are set aside for school breaks and holidays). This averages out to 4 lessons per month—even though some months will have 3 or 5.

Lesson Cancellation or Termination

We require a 30-day written notice if you plan to discontinue or pause lessons, even for short breaks. You will be financially responsible for lessons during this 30-day period, whether or not they are attended.

Please email your notice to piano_fortissimo@yahoo.com.
Text messages or phone calls will not be accepted for cancellations.

Yes! We host several exciting performance opportunities throughout the year:

Fall/Halloween Recital (October)

Winter Recital (December)

Federation Festival (March)

Spring Recital (May)

Students with at least 6–12 months of instruction are generally eligible to participate. Teachers reserve the right to determine recital readiness.

Yes, recital fees range from $20 to $45 per student. These cover venue rental, equipment transport, and other related expenses. Recital fees are paid at the time of registration.
The Federation Festival is a national performance evaluation hosted by the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC). Students perform graded pieces for adjudication, earn points, certificates and trophies. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to grow musically and gain recognition for their progress.
