We teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, worship, blues, and classical.
Voice students spend time each week doing physical exercises to improve their vocal range, ear training, vibrato, breath control, enunciation, tone production, and more! Each of our voice students works with their teacher to set goals and develop their own unique voice.
If the students are below the age of 13, our priority is to help them sing in a healthy way. A child’s vocal cords are easier to damage than an adult’s. Thus, voice lessons for younger children are focused on learning habits to prevent injury and learn to sing in a healthy way. Voice lessons for younger children consist of learning habits and exercises, such as matching pitch, ear training, and sight singing. It should be explored gently and not pressure a wide vocal range before their voice is capable.
The benefits of voice lessons include an increased awareness of their individual body and vocal instrument, knowledge on how to take care of their voice, developing studying and memorization skills, and improving communication and verbal skills to express themselves through music. These are just some of the benefits of taking voice lessons and learning music. Music is a universal language. We all have voices and it is our individual duty to take care of it to the best of our ability.
Private lessons take place weekly and are 30 or 45 minutes in length, based on student’s age and level.
