Brass lessons include private trumpet lessons, French horn lessons, trombone lessons, baritone lessons and tuba lessons.
Woodwind lessons include instructions on flute, clarinet and saxophone.
Our teachers recommend that students for these instruments usually start at ages 9 or older, as they need to have developed a greater lung capacity. In the case of the tuba, they also need to be big enough to hold the instrument. Our brass and woodwind teachers have college degrees in music and perform in everything from salsa bands to local orchestras. We can help students enhance their skills for their school band program or develop advanced skills to become soloists. We offer a wide range of styles with a repertoire ranging from classical to Irish tunes and beyond.
School music classes can provide a great starting point for young musicians to experience playing a woodwind instrument. Individual attention from a private lesson once a week will help students develop their musical abilities much faster compared to a classroom setting. Private lessons allow students to study their instrument, learn from a specialist, and try additional music to test their strengths. These lessons often consist of scales, instrument-specific techniques, and a repertoire that would not be included in a school music program.
Private lessons take place weekly and are 30 or 45 minutes in length based on student’s age and level.
