NFMC Federation Festival:
What is Festival?
NFMC Festival is a non-competitive annual event that provides students with opportunity to perform in front of a judge and receive a valuable feedback and points.
What are the requirements?
Great thing about Federation Festival is that do not have to wait till your student reaches a certain level. Festival program is designed for students starting from Pre-primary level to Advanced. Students who had a minimum 1 year of lessons should be able to participate, but it is always a great idea to talk to your instructor if you are not sure prior to signing up.
How do students get ready? What are song requirements?
Participating students will learn and perform two songs in front of a judge. One song must be picked from official NFMC Bulletin and another one is choice piece. Required and choice pieces must represent the same level of musicianship. Your instructor will help to determine student’s level and select appropriate songs.
What happens on Festival Day?
Each student will have a set appointment with a judge anywhere from 5-15min (based on level), during which a student will play his selected pieces and get scored on a point scale from 1 (needs Improvement) to 5 (Superior). The judge also will also fill out a comment sheet and give it to student right after audition, so you’ll know the results instantly.
Each student will receive a certificate stating his score upon completing the exam.
